Madonna stalker turns down plea deal
January 18 2012

Robert Linhart's lawyer Kevin Kitson claims his client should not have been arrested after two incidents near to the singer's New York home in September 2010, despite being found with a knifein a bag and an ice-pick in his truck.
He was also found with signs professing his love for the 'Like a Virgin' hitmaker.
Kitson said: "The New York City Police Department in this case was a servant of the private security of Madonna doing a celebrity's bidding. If you have enough money and power, the rules are different."
Linhard - a 61-year-old retired New York fire fighter - will now attend a hearing on February 21 which may lead to a trial.
He is currently out of prison on $20,000 bail but has been ordered to stay away from the 53-year-old pop star-turned-director.
According to court documents written at the time, Robert believed he had a right to be outside her home, where he had written notes on the pavement including "meet me please" and "tell me yes or no".
He said: "I can be here. This is police brutality. I have a right to do this. I am not doing anything wrong."

Brooke Mueller 'doing very well' in rehab
January 18 2012

The real estate investor - who has two-year-old twin sons Bob and Max with ex-husband Charlie Sheen - checked into a long-term, in-patient centre in December following her arrest for assault and cocaine possession and is said to be responding "positively" for treatment for drug and alcohol addiction.
An insider said: "Brooke is doing very well in rehab, this is the first time she has been in a residential treatment program, and it's been a very positive experience for her so far.
"Brooke will be at the facility for approximately 35-45 days in total."
The 34-year-old beauty's lawyers are now hoping to postpone her upcoming court date later this month - which relates to the cocaine and assault charges - until she has completed her stint in rehab.
The source told RadarOnline.com: "Brooke's lawyer will likely ask for the arraignment to be taken off calendar because she is still in rehab.
"Her lawyer would like for Brooke to be out of rehab when she next has to appear on court, so the District Attorney and the judge has a full report on her recovery.
"The fact that Brooke went to rehab on her own, and took responsibility for her actions will show the court that she is taking this very seriously, and she is hopeful that a plea bargain will be made."
During her time in the facility, Brooke has requested to be "tested on a daily basis for cocaine and other illegal substances" and she is allowed home under supervision in the evenings so she can be with her children.

Katie Melua is engaged
January 18 2012

The 27-year-old singer is set to wed former World Superbike champion James Toseland - who she has been dating since April 2011 - after he proposed before Christmas, The Sun newspaper reports.
Katie - who was previously in a relationship with Kooks frontman Luke Pritchard - was spotted wearing an engagement ring at Hamburg airport this week.
The 'Closest Thing To Crazy' singer and James, 31, were first set up by Katie's keyboard player Jim Watson last year after he spotted the racing star in the audience of her concert at Sheffield City Hall in Sheffield, North England.
James - who is launching a new career in music after being forced into early retirement following a wrist injury last year - has previously revealed one of the best thing about his new fiancee is that she doesn't care about his success.
He explained: "Katie has been great. She had no interest in me whatsoever because I was a motorcycle racer. She hadn't heard of me. She wouldn't even know what Valentino Rossi looked like.
"It was only because her piano player was such a fan that he kept talking about it on the tour bus after he'd met me. It was nice and a relief for someone so established to be attracted to me because of my personality."

Nick Cannon placed on diet
January 18 2012

The 'America's Got Talent' host was hospitalized two weeks ago with mild kidney failure - which he says was due to an overdose of protein, medication he was taking and a lack of proper sustenance -and though he is on the road to recovery, he has had to overhaul his eating habits.
Nick said: "I'm feeling good, I'm in the office, I'm grinding, the only thing that sucks is that I'm on the renal diet.

Explaining he has had to give up his favorite Lucky Charms cereal in favor of oatmeal, he added: "Not even the good oatmeal. Real oats, like horse-feed stuff -- but it's cool. I've got to start to love it."
Nick - who has eight-month-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with wife Mariah Carey - will gradually be able to relax the strict diet but in the meantime, he is turning to hot sauce to make his meals more exciting.
He told MTV News: "Right now I'm still on the strict diet and I can't have any sodium, but as a couple of weeks go by and everything gets leveled out, then I can start having low sodium.
"I can still have Tabasco sauce, so I'm excited about that because I love hot sauce. I'll be putting Tabasco sauce on carrots, like, 'This tastes delicious!' "

Nick Cannon closer to Mariah
January 17 2012

The 'America's Got Talent' host was hospitalized over the festive season with mild kidney failure and he feels "indebted" to his spouse of three years for the way she looked after him and supported himduring his recovery.
He said: "I'm happier than happy. Especially though this entire process, we've become so much closer ... I even got a chance to see a different side of my wife where she became so nurturing. I'm in debt to her forever. "
Nick was taken ill during a festive break in Aspen with Mariah and their eight-month-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, and doctors originally thought he had contracted acute mountain sickness before realizing the seriousness of his condition.
He explained to radio host Howard Stern: "They thought it was kidney stones, then a kidney infection.

The 31-year-old star is now "feeling 100 per cent" but says his illness has taught him not to push himself so much.
He said: "Because of this situation I know that I don't need to go so hard. It's more about just my way of living ... It's really about taking some time."

Michelle Williams wanted new baby after Ledger's death
January 17 2012

The 'My Week with Marilyn' star always hoped the youngster, now six, would have a brother or sister close to her in age and so felt she needed to move on quickly following the death of her former fiance in January 2008.
The actress - who embarked on a year-long relationship with director Spike Jonze months after Heath passed away - explained: "Because I really wanted, and I really expected or imagined, that Matilda would have siblings that were close to her age. I wanted that for her. But I couldn't make that happen. And now that she's six that isn't even a possibility anymore. So something that was making me feel impatient, that's been removed. For whatever reason, that's not our luck, or our path."
Although Michelle has found life tough since Heath passed away from an accidental drugs overdose, she thinks it is harder for her daughter because the youngster will have few memories of her father that she doesn't share with anyone else.
She said: "You know, as hard as certain things have been for me, it's been harder thinking about how things will be for her. I have a lot of things that she doesn't, and some of what I have I can give to her--the memories that I have, the objects that I have, the physical reminders that I have, the stories. But she won't really have any that are solely..."
Michelle and Heath met on the set of 'Brokeback Mountain' in 2004 with the actress giving birth to their daughter in 2005 and the 31-year-old actress believes their relationship developed so quickly because they subconsciously knew they didn't have much time together.
She told America's GQ magazine: "Our initial meeting, the circumstances of how we first met, were cosmic or something. Yeah, a lot of things happened at once. It's a bit like: We had a lot of things to do, because we didn't have a lot of time, or something."

The 'American Idol' judge - who has been sober for two years after battling addictions to drugs and alcohol - also opened up about his former troubles, admitting he has to "wish and hope" that he can continue to battle his demons.
He added on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show': "I can't get back into that world. I can stay high on stage and stay high. I just keep with my program, wish and hope."

Heather Mills terrified by cancer scare
January 17 2012

The 44-year-old former model - who lost her left leg below the knee in when she was hit by a police motorcycle in 1993 - revealed doctors found a tumor in the limb late last year which thankfully turned out to be benign.
She explained: "An MRI scan picked up a tumor in the top of my left leg, which is the same one I had amputated below the knee 19 years ago. I had to go back into the MRI machine and they put a dye into it. Doctors said it had been there for some time. It all happened very quickly. Thankfully it was all fine. Doctors told me the tumor was benign, not cancerous."
Heather has hopes of competing in the 2014 Paralympics skiing competition but admitted she is happiest when enjoying a more leisurely approach to her "miracle child", eight-year-old daughter Beatrice, from her marriage to Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney.
She added in an interview with HELLO! magazine: "I only train when my daughter is with her father and when she's on holiday. When she is on holiday, she comes skiing with me. Beatrice is a brilliant skier. Every year we are on the snow, she is racing past me. She is a miracle child anyway as I was not meant to have kids so seeing her on the slope next to me is like fairyland."

Rihanna heads to Hawaii for break
January 17 2012

The 'We Found Love' hitmaker has fled the US for a vacation after learning her ex-boyfriend - who was convicted of assaulting her in 2009 - has got a tattoo of his current partner Karrueche Tran's face.
Chris is said to be so besotted with the Vietnamese model that he opted for an inking of her on his left arm, The Sun newspaper reports.
However, Rihanna seemed to be less than thrilled at the new body art, as she let rip on twitter.
She said: "Cuz of u I'm onsome real f**k a n***a s**t!
"U wanna be my main squeeze n***a, don't ya?
"So what n***a, I'm not tryna hear that s**t! (sic)"
The 23-year-old singer later admitted she had rolled a "kush" - a strain of cannabis - cigarette and was pouring herself a drink.
Rihanna tweeted: "Kush rolled, glass full...I prefer the better things! (sic)"
Despite her latest rant, the Bajan beauty recently claimed she would "never wish anything horrible" on Chris - who is serving five years of probation after pleading guilty to attacking her - as her previous resentment for the rapper was "taking up too much" of her time.
She said: "I would never wish anything horrible for him. Never. I never have. It was too much anger. I'm really excited to see the breakthrough he's had in his career.
"It's incredible to see how he pulled out the way he did. Even when the world seemed like it was against him, you know? I really like the music he's putting out. I'm a fan of his stuff. I've always been a fan."

Kim Kardashian found Ricky Gervais' jibes 'hilarious'
January 17 2012

The ceremony's host joked he had "sat through longer James Cameron speeches" than her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries and called her "trashy" as he compared the socialite to Britain's DuchessCatherine, who was known as Kate Middleton before she married Prince William last year.
He said: "The Golden Globes are to the Oscars what Kim Kardashian is to Kate Middleton.
"A bit trashier, a bit drunker and more easily bought."
According to website TMZ, Kim told friends she has a sense of humor, and "thought it was funny."
Ricky also poked fun at 'The Beaver' co-stars Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster in his opening speech, which the latter - who is gay - found funny, laughing and giving a thumbs up.
He said: "I musn't mention Mel Gibson this year. Not his private life, his politics, his recent films or especially not Jodie Foster's 'Beaver'.
"I haven't seen it myself. I've spoken to a lot of guys - they haven't seen it either but that doesn't mean it's not good."
Even though Jodie's sons, Charles, 13, and 10-year-old Christopher were in the audience, Ricky didn't think he went too far, saying: "I don't think anyone thought it was offensive, did they?"
He added that the family had a "good sense of humor" about his speech.

However, George, 48, joked with photographers outside his hotel that he was behaving himself in the party city.
The singer - who previouslyunderwent narcotics counseling for his cannabis use - said about his choice of holiday destinations: "I know what you are thinking and you are wrong."
When he was asked about his health he said he was feeling "better and stronger every day" and revealed he is writing new music.
George had to cancel a number of dates of his 'Symphonica' European tour when he was struck down with pneumonia, and in a hastily called press conference outside his home at the end of December, he admitted the severity of the illness had been played down to his fans.
He said: "I'd say it was touch and go for a few weeks. And I played it down, I didn't want to worry my fans too much and I'm really sorry that I couldn't contact them in any way before now, but I was in no state to."

Sharon Osbourne has sex 'all the time'
January 17 2012

The 59-year-old star regularly makes love to her rocker husband Ozzy Osbourne and she even takes time off from her chat show, 'The Talk', to spend more time in the bedroom with the 63-year-old Black Sabbath frontman.
She said: "We make love all the time.
"We used to do it five times a week. I take breaks from my chat show to have sex."
Sharon has famously undergone multiple cosmetic surgery procedures and while she is delighted with the results, she is looking to schedule another operation in the near future.
She added to the Daily Star newspaper: "I've had my boobs lifted and puckered up, they're perfect. I now need time off for my chin."
Sharon previously revealed her surprise at receiving "dirty texts" from Ozzy while he was touring in Europe last year while she worked in America, and she was so shocked she thought his phone had been stolen.
She said: "He's gorgeous. He's in Europe. He's doing all the summer festivals this year in Europe, he's very busy.
"It's good now because he's texting. So we're texting each other all the time. I got a text from Ozzy yesterday and I'm like, 'Jesus, somebody's stolen his phone.' Because I thought somebody found his phone and they were texting me dirty messages. And Silvana, my assistant, goes, 'Oh my god, Ozzy's just sent you this really dirty text.' And I'm like, 'Well it's not him, somebody must have stolen his phone, he can't text'. But it was him."

Ricky Gervais won't host Globes again
January 17 2012

The comedian - who aimed a number of crude jokes at celebrities in the audience when he fronted the event in Los Angeles on Sunday (15.01.12) - has instructed his agent not to let him present the ceremony for a fourth time because he doesn't enjoy the prestigious hosting role until the evening is over.
Writing on his official blog, Ricky - who came under fire after insulting several celebrities in the audience while hosting the spectacle in 2011 - said: "Thank f**k that's over. I had a blast actually. It was by far my favorite of the three hosting stints.
"I've told my agent to never let me be persuaded to do it again though. It's like a parachute jump. You can only really enjoy it in retrospect when you realize you didn't die and it was quite an amazing thing to do."
The 50-year-old star's latest jibes saw him joke about Jodie Foster's sexuality and poke fun at Justin Bieber's recent paternity scandal - but he thinks the audience understood his crude comedy a lot more this time around.
He wrote: "The crowd were great this year too. I think they finally worked out that my gags only seemed rude and nasty but were actually not too scary at all.
"Or they were just drunker. Either way, it was fun but I'm glad to say I'm off to New York to chill out a bit."
However, it's not the first time Ricky has said he won't host the Golden Globes again.
Following his controversial presenting stint in 2011 - which saw him ridicule top Hollywood stars including Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp, Charlie Sheen and Robert Downey Jr. - he ruled out fronting the ceremony for a third time.
When asked last year if he would do it again, he replied: "It's doesn't really matter because I'm not going to do it anyway. I said I wouldn't do it a second time but I think twice is enough."

Jay-Z's songs will change because of baby
January 16 2012

The '99 Problems' hitmaker will no longer using the derogatory term for a woman out of respect for his first child, Blue Ivy, whom he and wife Beyonce Knowles welcomed into the world last Saturday (07.01.12).
In a poem to his daughter, he wrote: "Before I got in the game, made a change, and got rich / I didn't think hard about using the word bitch.
"I rapped, I flipped it, I sold it, I lived it / now with my daughter in this world I curse those that give it.
"I never realized while on the fast track that I'd give riddance to the word bitch / to leave her innocence intact.
"No man will degrade her, or call her name / I'm so focused on your future, the degradation has passed."
Last week, Blue Ivy became the youngest person ever to be credited in the US Billboard charts, after her cries and gurgles were sampled by Jay to use on his track 'Glory', which he dedicated to his newborn and released two days after her birth.
Lyrics to the track include: "The most amazing feeling I feel, words can't describe what I'm feeling for real / Baby, I paint the sky blue, my greatest creation was you."

Gerard Butler dodges household chores
January 16 2012

The Hollywood actor cheated death in December when he was thrown from his surfboard and hit by a series of 12-foot waves while filming 'Of Men and Mavericks' - and he joked that he was unable to wash dishes when he returned home to Scotland over the festive period as a result of what he'd been through.
Gerard - who recently admitted the accident was a "close call" - quipped: "I play it like that, but I don't really get away with it... Although I do feel that this year I was a little bit lazy.
"There were a couple of times when I saw people in the kitchen and I thought I could be doing a little bit more. 'Do you know what I've just been through? You're lucky I'm here. And you're going to ask me... it's washing up! It's water! I can't even see the water, any kind of foam - it's too much, what if I fall in?' "
The 42-year-old star's latest film 'Coriolanus' - a film adaption of Shakespeare's tragedy of the same name - sees him take a break from near-death experiences to star as Roman army commander Tullus Aufidius, and he hopes appearing in the movie will encourage people to read more of the playwright's work.
Speaking on ITV1's 'Lorraine', he added: "I was sent the script - it was so filmic, it was just perfect and you really could immediately see yourself as that character and you could see Ralph as 'Coriolanus'. It's very accessible and easy to follow.
"You always have different reasons for choosing roles. Some are for fun and this came along and I thought, 'Well, you know what? I'm not exactly known for my Shakespeare!' "

Kelsey Grammer will be an 'amazing' father
January 16 2012

The 'Boss' star and his former flight attendant wife recently announced they were expecting twins together and Kelsey's co-star Kathleen Robertson knows the babies will be blessed with a great mother and father.
She told People: "They're lovely and wonderful and madly in love, and they're going to be amazing parents. It's great news."
Kayte, 32, says she and Kelsey, 56, aren't fully prepared for the twins' arrival but insists they're not worried about it.
She said: "We're just taking each day as it comes."
Kelsey - who already has four children, Spencer, 28, and Greer, 19, from previous relationships and 10-year-old Mason and Jude, seven, with ex-wife Camille Donatacci - added: "We're waiting until it all hits. We know where to find diapers and stuff. It's easy to find cribs."
The former 'Frasier' star recently paid tribute to his wife, saying: "She's one of the most loving, amazing, warm human beings I've ever met."
The news comes after Kayte tragically had a miscarriage in October 2010, four months before their wedding.

'Boring' Nicole Kidman
January 16 2012

The Oscar-winning actress says not many people think she's that fun because she no longer drinks alcohol and stays on the soft drinks when she goes out.
Speaking at the Golden Globes last night (15.01.12), the mother-of-four - whose husband Keith Urban has a history of alcohol abuse - said: "I don't drink alcohol. See how boring I am? I'll have sparking water tonight."
While many may think she's boring, Nicole was probably being sensible as she has two young daughters - Sunday Rose, three, and 13-month-old Faith Margaret - to look after.
The 44-year-old beauty - who also has adopted children, Isabella, 19, and 16-year-old Connor with ex-husband Tom Cruise - recently said she can't stop kissing Faith, who was born in December 2010 via a gestational carrier.
She said: "She's divine, she's growing and an absolute little bundle of yumminess. I can't stop kissing her!"
Nicole also said she thinks her life has got richer since she became a mother.
She said: "I love every stage, I just love raising children. They bring so much to your life!"

Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner split
January 16 2012

The singer and the reality TV star - who had been dating for almost two years - have decided to call time on their relationship because they couldn't agree on their future.
A source told Life & Style magazine: "They decided to end their relationship. It wasn't working out, and they wanted to go their separate ways.
"She wanted to settle down, but he wasn't exactly ready. They had been having problems starting in the summer with her tour because she was on the road all the time. It put a strain on their relationship."
Avril - who was previously married to Sum 41 rocker Deryck Whibley - recently said she would marry again as she wanted to start a family.
The 27-year-old star said: "It's all about love and I make that my number one priority. One day I would hope to have kids and do that whole thing. Right now I'm very focused on my career, my album, my tour and naturally when that happens for me next, yeah I'll go for it."

Kelsey Grammer's wife expecting twins
January 16 2012

The 56-year-old actor - who married the former flight attendant in February 2011 - is "really looking forward" to welcoming the new arrivals, and revealed Kayte is in her second trimester.
He said backstage at the Golden Globe Awards last night (15.01.12): "I'm really looking forward to meeting these new arrivals in our lives."
Paying tribute to his wife, he added: "She's one of the most loving, amazing, warm human beings I've ever met."
The 'Frasier' star already has four children - Spencer, 28, and Greer, 19, from previous relationships and 10-year-old Mason and Jude, seven, with ex-wife Camille Donatacci, best known for her appearance on 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills'.
Kelsey and Kayte previously suffered heartache when she had a miscarriage in October 2010.
The actor recently revealed he met Kayte six months before he announced his split from Camille and enjoyed a "magical" few days getting to know her better.
He said: "We actually met in the air on a plane to England. It was very romantic, she was working on the plane. We went out for coffee several days later and had this magical night in the snow in London around Christmas time. It was two years ago."

Ricky Gervais jokes about Foster's sexuality
January 16 2012

The comedian - who received an avalanche of criticism when he hosted the event in 2011 after insulting several celebrities in the audience - read out a list of topics he was banned from mentioning before alluding to the 'Panic Room' star's sexual orientation with a crude joke.
He said: "The Hollywood Foreign Press have warned me that if I insult you or cause any controversy, they would invite me back next year.
"[They gave me] a list of rules, and this is real. No profanity. That's fine. I've got a huge vocabulary.
"No nudity. See, that's a shame, because I've got a huge ... vocabulary, but tiny penis. It works. I don't care. It's fine.
"No smut or innuendo. Or I'm not to libel anyone.
"And I must not mention Mel Gibson this year. Not his private life, his politics, his recent films or especially not Jodie Foster's Beaver. I haven't seen it myself. I've spoken to a lot of guys - they haven't seen it either but that doesn't mean it's not good."
However, Jodie appeared to take it all in good humor and responded with a thumbs-up sign before clapping.
One person who didn't take too kindly to Ricky's jokes was 'W.E.' director Madonna.
He quipped: "Our next presenter is the Queen of Pop.
"No, not you Elton. She's all woman. She's always vogue, she's a Material Girl and she's just like a virgin. Please welcome Madonna."
Madonna fired back: "If I'm still a virgin Ricky, then why don't you come on do something about it? I haven't kissed a girl in a few years. On TV."
Ricky, 50, also poked fun at Justin Bieber's recent paternity scandal - where a fan accused him of fathering her baby - saying: "Justin Bieber nearly had to take a paternity test. What a waste of a test that would have been.
"No, he's not the father. The only way that he could have impregnated a girl was if he borrowed one of Martha Stewart's old turkey basters."
Celebrity break-ups also came in for a bashing with Ricky focusing on Kim Kardashian's 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries.
He said: "Arnold and Maria. J.Lo and Marc Anthony. Ashton and Demi. Kim Kardashian and some guy no one will ever remember.
"He wasn't around long. Seventy-two days - a marriage that lasted 72 days. I've sat through longer James Cameron speeches."

The silent black-and-white movie scooped Best Motion Picture in the Comedy or Musical category, while Best Score went to composer Ludovic Bource and lead star Jean Dujardin was awarded Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical.
Michelle received her gong for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe - who won the same award in 1960 - in 'My Week With Marilyn'.
Paying tribute to her six-year-old daughterMatilda with late actor Heath Ledger, she said: "Gosh, you know I consider myself a mother first and an actress second and the first person I want to thank is my daughter. My little girl.
"Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for putting in my hand the same award that Marilyn Monroe herself won over 50 years ago."
Elsewhere, Meryl Streep picked up Best Actress in a Drama for her role as former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in 'The Iron Lady', and she thanked the UK for allowing her to "trample over their history".
She said: "Thank you to everyone in England who let me come over there and trample over their history."

Ricky Gervais hosted the star-studded ceremony - held at Los Angeles' Beverly Hilton Hotel and broadcast by NBC - for the second year running, and his jokes proved as controversial as ever.
Opening the show, he said: "It's so good having a job where you can get drunk and say what you want. And they still pay me.
"Tonight, you get Britain's biggest comedian hosting the world's second biggest award show on America's third biggest network. Oh, sorry, fourth. It's fourth. They're like the Oscars but without all that esteem."
"The Golden Globes are to the Oscars what Kim Kardashian is to Kate Middleton. A bit louder, a bit trashier, a bit drunker and more easily bought. Allegedly. Nothing's been proven."

Angelina Jolie wows in Versace
January 16 2012

The 'In the Land of Blood and Honey' director wowed in a floor-length cream satin strapless gown with a side-split cut up to her thigh. A structured top, ruching atthe waist and a flowing skirt highlighted the actress' tiny frame while cream peep-toe shoes, a red clutch and diamond stud earrings completed the look.
Angelina kept her hair and make-up simple with an elegant bun and bright red lipstick.
The 36-year-old actress wasn't the only star to impress in a pale creation on the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton Hotel with Charlize Theron, Elle Macpherson and Kate Beckinsale all wearing white dresses.
However, not everyone shied away from bright shades with George Clooney's girlfriend Stacy Keibler in a red Valentino gown, Reese Witherspoon wearing a scarlet Zac Posen creation with Emma Stone dressed in a plunging plum Lanvin ensemble and Tina Fey opting for a purple dress.

George Clooney mocks Brad at Golden Globes
January 16 2012

The actor took to the stage at the awards ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles to introduce a clip of his pal's movie 'Moneyball' and as he climbed the steps he usedBrad's walking stick.
Brad - who attended the show with his partner Angelina Jolie - has been seen using a cane recently after injuring himself when he took a tumble while carrying his three-year-old daughter Vivienne.
As he took to the podium, George told the star-studded audience: "I have to give it back to him ... He can't make it to the bar otherwise."
The crowd laughed in approval of the Hollywood hunk's gag.
The two friends were both nominated in the Best Actor in a Drama category for their roles in 'Moneyball' and 'The Descendants' respectively and were also up against Leonardo DiCaprio and Ryan Gosling.
But it was George who emerged victorious on the night.
In his acceptance speech, the 50-year-old star stopped the jokes to praise Brad, 48, for his work over the last year.
He said: "I wanted to say it's nice to see Brad, and it's nice to be able to tell him not just what wonderful work he's doing in two films this year. But what wonderful work he does in the rest of the world to the rest of the people."
George was accompanied to the Golden Globes - which were hosted by Ricky Gervais - by his girlfriend Stacy Keibler, and the former wrestler sent pulses racing when the couple arrived in a figure-hugging floor-length red dress.

Kelly Rowland and Michelle doting over Blue Ivy
January 16 2012

The former Destiny's Child stars have been to see their ex-bandmate and her first baby, who was born on January 7, and say both her and husband Jay-Z have quickly taken to their new parental roles.
Speaking of Blue, Michelle said: "She is absolutely gorgeous. We were all in love. Beyonce and Jay-Z have already settled into their role of being parents, and it's just awesome to see."
Michelle admitted seeing Blue had even made her a little broody herself, adding: "They might have inspired me a little bit, but this ring finger got to get a little more heavy first!"
Kelly has also fallen for the tot but was reluctant to disclose which of her parents the newborn looks like.
Speaking at the BET Honors awards in Washington she told USA Today newspaper: "That will be something that everybody will have to experience the same way I did. That's for her parents to disclose, not myself."
Kelly has previously been seen buying a bright green babygro with a picture of Bob Marley's face on it for Blue, and has said she can't wait to babysit her.
She said: "I will babysit and change a diaper or two, and then give it back. I do want kids, but every time I think about a little person growing inside of me and getting bigger and bigger and then having to come out - a watermelon coming out of something the size of a lemon is insane to me."

Kate Beckinsale's weight fears over Underworld catsuit
January 16 2012

The British actress was overwhelmed with the choice of delicious foods while shooting 'Contraband' in the Louisiana city but admitted itled to some anxiety about getting back in shape for the skin tight costumes she wears in the latest 'Underworld' installment.
She explained to Ontheredcarpet.com: "The whole time I was preparing for 'Underworld,' I was actually shooting 'Contraband,' so New Orleans is a wonderful city, but it's not the most fantastic place to get in shape because we want to go try those beignets and all those wonderful things.
"It's got the worst kind of 'Underworld' suit food, really. So it was a miracle. I guess having had a lot of training for the first one, thank goodness, it wasn't quite as extensive as that but there were still a lot of complicated fight scenes to learn and stunts I hadn't done before and just the sheer terror of getting back into that suit, which is a bit like a put your bikini on and stand in Times Square kind of feeling."
However, Kate showed that she has regained her sexy slim figure as she stepped out in a stunning strapless Roberto Cavalli gown with sequin embellishments at the Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles last night (15.01.12) and it appears her New Years' resolution to be healthier is paying off.
She explained: "I walk around holding a bottle of water a lot and my resolution this year is to actually drink it. I think I've drunk it just because I'm carrying it from the car to the house and back out again, I've just got to drink more water, I think."

Duchess Catherine praised by Joan Collins
January 15 2012

The former 'Dynasty' star is a huge fan of the 30-year-old royal - who married Prince William last April - and thinks she, William and his brother Harry are great ambassadors for the UK.
She said: "I very much like Catherine. What do we call her now? The Duchess of Cambridge sounds so old! Can't we just call her Princess Catherine as they do in America? She has not put a foot wrong. She even looks like a princess. I think Prince William has done a great job and taught her what to expect. She is flawless in everything, her clothes, her smile, her attitude.
"Harry was in Las Vegas when we were there a month ago - he drove in on his Harley through the Arizona desert. He's very much a man of the people, isn't he? I like that."
Joan was also a huge fan of William's mother, the late Princess Diana, and was devastated when she died in 1997.
She said: "Diana had a tough time. She wasn't strong enough to survive what was happening to her. I loved her."

Anna Kendrick bemoans outfit fascination
January 15 2012

The 'Twilight Saga' beauty believes being a woman in Hollywood can be tough as when she is asked to speak to the press they are often more interested about her fashion choices.
She said: "Peopleseem to be more interested in my handbag or my clothes than what I actually do. The boys get asked questions about their work and I get asked what color lipstick I am wearing."
However the 26-year-old actress does not have a particular career plan and simply likes to think about the kind of jobs she would get up early in the morning for.
She said: "I'm really bad at trying to figure out the next chess move for my career.
"I take it on a case-by-case basis. I have started going through scripts and thinking, 'Would I wake up at 4am knowing it's going to be a 12-hour day and be excited to go into work for this?' I don't think about the 10-year plan."

Perfume collector Liv Tyler
January 15 2012

The 34-year-old actress still has scents she liked as a teenager and can't bring herself to throw any of them away because the fragrances evoke many different memories for her.

"I wear Very Irresistible - it's delicious- but I think it smells better on my grandmother. Every time I see her I say, 'You smell so good' and she says, 'Very Irresistible'."
Liv also revealed she takes three hours to prepare for a red carpet event but tries to make getting ready as fun as possible.
She explained: "If I'm going to an evening event I book three hours for hair and make-up, This morning I was rushed as I only had an hour and a half and they were double teaming me!

Kevin Spacey likes theatrical films
January 15 2012

The actor-and-director has worked on both movies and plays and believes they don't have to be that different.
He said: "I'm a big believer that film can not only be big and explosive, with lots of action, but can also have real power in claustrophobic settings. Go back and look at 'Twelve Angry Men', 'Dog Day Afternoon'. 'The Social Network' last year was a movie about people sitting in rooms talking. Film can embrace the best of theater, which is the actors' medium, and you put actors in a room, set a camera there, and you don't cut away every three seconds."
Kevin also revealed the reason he took on his latest role of banker Sam Rogers in 'Margin Call' was because he knew writer and director JC Chandler would make him human.
He told the Telegraph newspaper: "JC Chandor had an interesting way into a complex and confusing series of events. I realized that he was basing the character of Sam Rogers largely on his father, who had been in the banking industry for 40 years and was there when it all collapsed.
I felt he had a humanizing approach, laying out decisions that were made and that people had to follow. I'm not saying we're trying to create sympathy [for bankers], but I think there's a valuable lesson in having empathy for people who are largely dehumanized. The collapse of the banks also affected the lives of people who were just trying to make a living. They got caught up in it all, perhaps made mistakes along the way. There were higher-ups who were warned repeatedly. But maybe not every one of those people was simply greedy."

Heather Locklear discharged from hospital
January 15 2012

The 50-year-old actress - who was admitted to the Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center on Thursday afternoon (12.01.12) after reportedly mixing prescription medication with alcohol - was released from the facility at around 5pm yesterday.
According to a hospital spokesperson, Heather was in "good spirits, smiling and talkative" as she was released into the care of her family when doctors decided she was well enough to return home, TMZ.com reports.
However, the star's family are now said to be keen for her to receive specialist treatment for psychological issues at UCLA Hospital rather than a rehabilitation facility.
In November, Heather called off her engagement to 'Melrose Place' co-star Jack Wagner after just three months, and the blonde beauty has had a turbulent few years.
In 2011, she was arrested, and later cleared, for a hit-and-run accident after hitting a No Parking sign in Ventura County, California, while in 2008 she entered rehab seeking treatment for anxiety and depression.
