Katy Perry and Video Games: Will it be Another Rip Off of a Gaga Antic? That and Other Random Stuff TodayJanuary 17, 2012 by

So it has been revealed recently that Katy Perry has teamed up with The Sims to make her own special content for the game. Wonderful.....

If my sarcasm isn't apparent enough for some then let me lay it on ultra thick. Seriously the only way I will get whatever monstrosity of a game or pack The Sims makes for Perry is only when the game or contains these important features:

1. You must be able to make your Sim a firework, make the Sim's color's burst and make the other Sims go "ah ah ah".

2. I must be able to copy the style of another famous artist and keep it even when it gets stale and uninteresting.

3. There must be the ability to have a egoistic rapper join in my ghost artist made-techno.

4. Female Sims have to be allowed to marry drug addicted insane British comedians and then get a divorce when it doesn't work out.

5. Sims are given the permission to go on a child Sims telivision program and wear inappropriate clothing for little kids that will make women wet or men hard depend on the gender of the Sim on tv.

And finally.......

6. Male Sims must be able to marry a digital Katy Perry and Woohoo all the time for all time.

Now onto other random stuff that made my day or confused me. A japanese man yelled at a kid for owning a psp which I find kind of funny. Reminds me of Makemebad's prank videos. I crave for a Cyborg R.A.T. gaming mouse but I doubt it will be possible to explain to my parents why I spent 100 bucks on a mouse.

That's all  I got for today. Now if you excuse me I got some Persona 3 to play for insane amounts of time.

Sincerely,

Sharif Ahmad

Persona 3 Portable Midterm Help for Anyone Who needs it.January 13, 2012 by

Okay so since I started playing Persona 3 Portable again I though hell why not help out those who need it eh? I thought I'd start with the first midterm answers.

So pan means bread.

The earth rotates faster than the speed of sound around the equator.

The definition for water with high concentration of magnesium and calcuim is hard water.

The answer for the final one is Nara province.

I will post something else later today.

Until then, see you later!

I Really Don't Understand the Attractiveness of Shooters on Consoles These Days.......January 11, 2012 by

I really don't expect much from this post. If I do get a comment from anyone it may simply be from people who will spend their time typing obscenities and references to my mother but what the hell. Might as well give it a go right?

My first major FPS game I was addicted was Resistance. My friend got me the game for my birthday. I remember that he had slipped a different game cover over resistance so my parent's would think it was a rated T game instead of the rated R game I would receive. We chose co-op and went straight into the story line. My friends and I spent the whole night jumping in fright, cooing over the guns and playing rock paper scissors to figure out who would enter the next room. The second game was just as good. Sure co-op was gone but so many things had been improved. Gone was the health bar and instead a shiny new life system was added. It was obviously based on CoD none the less but I'll get to that later. Guns that I had in the first game had been given a face lift. There were new enemies for my friends and I to cower in fear over and a whole new story line to get caught into. I can't say anything for the third and final game because admittedly I haven't played it yet. "TRAVESTY!!!" some people will scream. Others will shake their heads in disappointment. How can I not play the final part in a game series that I say I adore? I have no answer. I guess I just started playing other games that I found more interesting as I waited for the third to come out. By the time it had come out I was no longer interested in it. I was then playing Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. Now onto the comparison. CoD style.

When I first tried out Call of Duty: MW2, I found it to be the most invigorating game. I was hooked at the first R1. I played for a few months and finished the story line. I remember thinking to myself, "I'd really like to see what they do with the next game they make". Then the next game was indeed announced: Black Ops. When it came out I was hoping for the best. The hope was gone when I played it. Instead of being left with a sense of awe I left with a major feeling of a disappointment. Instead of something major to make the game worthy of playing they added zombies. They removed the nukes which I seriously loved in the MW2 and didn't replace it something worthwhile. The story was lackluster. There were new guns but I still wasn't very impressed. I only play zombies with my friends and even then it's only once in a while. By the time MW3 was announced I no longer really gave a damn. I saw picture of the "new look" the "new guns" and I really didn't see much of change. Okay yes it's modern warfare so not much can be changed, I will give them that. Still when I look at PC shooters I feel quite saddened by the popularity of BF3 and MW3.

Sure there are a few diamonds in the sand. Portal and Portal 2 rekindled my love for Shooters for a time but so many others seemed to not see why I thought Portal 2 was so much better than MW3. Why? As they said "The only gun in the game couldn't kill anyone" which meant in their opinion that the game was no good.

See I am firstly a major RPG/ Action game fan. When a next game is made in a RPG/ Action game, the formula may stay the same. But only the formula. Multiple other things have been changed so that it feels exciting just to see the new improvement's made. Kingdom Hearts is a perfect example of this. When I played the first game I was immediately craving for a sequel. Instead I got Chain of Memories for GameBoy Advance. I was very skeptical of it at first but then when I played the new game I was hooked once again. The card style fighting was beyond invigorating. The story was tragic but great and the game had a secret ending like the first game. Fast forward a year or so to KH2. Once again the game style had been changed. Fighting was so much faster in pace that I had to improve my reaction times to keep up. I don't even need to talk about story or new changes because it is obvious to most people. The game was amazing. I looked forward to the next game. Then it came out on DS, Kingdom Heart 358/2 Days and later Coded. I had to borrow my little brothers DS to play it but it was worth the wining I got from my brother. I played it into the first hours of the next day for weeks on end. Then came Birth by Sleep on PSP. I still think it is the best Kingdom Hearts game to date.

I have many other examples of RPG games that continuously keep my attention but I think my point is clear. First person shooter games that are considered popular on consoles have become too repetitive and boring to me. If they were anything like the PC FPS games then maybe my opinion would be different but they are not. This is only my opinion see and I admit I may feel that way because I am more of an RPG guy than a FPS guy but I still don't understand this situation.

Waiting for the Vita Won't be That Hard Anymore.January 10, 2012 by

It used to be hard to wait for the vita. Right now though it seems I may have less difficulty controlling myself until the release.

See just recently I got to the end of Persona 3 Portable. I really have to give it to the producers. The story was quite depressing in the end. I won't spoil anything but what the ending signifies is quite obvious. I still have two more plays left to go on this game first. "Wait dude, how is that even possible? Do you seriously want to play a game where the story line is obvious another two times. Get a life!" I have a feeling that those few people who may read this will actually find themselves saying this in their mind if they don't know much about Persona. I have a pretty good reason to play this game another two times.

The first re play will be for the sole purpose of unlocking the two ultimate personas so I can fight a certain secret boss. The two persona's are named Messiah and Orpheus Telos. There is a very interesting thing regarding these two personas right here. Messiah isn't actually hard to make. It takes no effort truth to be told. The real challenge comes when one actually want's to make Messiah obtain the strength that reflects his name. See Messiah learns his moves from whom you make him with. If the personas you use have crap moves then you end up with a crap Messiah that should be renamed Fluke or WTF!? or Epic Fail. To make a powerful Messiah takes effort. Regarding Orpheus Telos now; see Orpheus Telos is rewarded to the protagonist in the main game if you complete all the social links in the game. Good luck with that on the first try. He has the same situation when it comes to moves that Messiah does. I have a feeling that the first play will be challenging  just because of that. Not even to mention the Paradigm Door and the secret boss battles.

The second play will be a whole new story. GASP!? HOW COULD THIS BE!? Simple, Persona went Pokemon on us you see. There's a male and a female storyline. Obviously the female storyline would be different than the male story line. After all they don't want to have a female bathing with men in a public spring now would they?

After I finish this game I think I'll return to Gods Eater Burst, make insane weapons and hand the last remaining bosses' asses to them(I really do hope that was grammatically correct). That should be able to keep me busy. Not to mention the life of a college student is fraught with classes that make me want to blow my brains out. If only Star Driver had new episodes. Zero Time during a class would be awesome. Cybodies attacking a mundane class would be appreciated as well. It would make the time between school and visiting my family a little less painful. Mother, Father, Brothers,........... and Skyward Sword wait for me!

And so we go,

The Return of the Blogs.January 4, 2012 by

It's been a long time hasn't it? Since the last time I posted I've had a ton of ups and down in life and I really lost my way. I've been close to giving up on a lot of things. Suddenly I found a glimpse of life in a very literal way. I found my old Kingdom Hearts games. I put them in the PS3 and went for a go. Suddenly I felt a lot better and yes I am once again a major KH fan.

This is the point where I give a ton of updates right? Okay so here I go. I have had the Vita pre ordered since the time it was called the NGP. I still miss that name. The name the portable system currently holds seems to be a bit more of a joke at this time. I almost feel as if it should be called the PS Shin. Still I hope for the best so that maybe one day this system will get the honor it deserves. Now onto the 3DS. I still don't think the 3D was necessary but either than that I think the 3DS is a brilliant system. My younger brother owns one so I thought that in itself was good enough. If I wanted I could play his system. Now I am in a bit of a tussle though. Why? You guessed it. Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream, Drop, Distance. I've seen every trailer up to the recent Jump Festa trailers: bot the long and short version. I teared up when I saw all the previous protagonists again and cowered when I saw Xehanort in Terra's body. The graphics are something that call my name in itself. The story line is even better. I had a fangasm when I saw all the character from The World Ends With You in the trailers and I am even more excited to see that some of the Dream Eaters will actually be on your side.

Update number two: On PSP I am currently playing the Persona series. I'm up to Persona 3, albeit the portable version but it still unbelievably enjoyable. It makes it harder to wait for the enhanced version of Persona 4 to come out for the Vita. Person 4: The Golden looks unbelievably good. Then add the recent belief that Atlus will announce Persona 5 and the suspense has beyond killed me. Lock me up in an insane asylum but I think 2012 is going to be the best year yet when it comes to games and the systems they are on. On the Wii I am playing the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Addiction would not even describe what I am going through.

Let's not forget that the FFX remake is going to be so amazing. Oh my I think I may faint from all the awesomeness.

I have become sick and tired of laptops. They lack power in so many ways. Emulators are not very efficient on them as well. Enhanced graphics capabilities are a joke on laptops. Desktops are a necessity. I think I may build one for myself.

I plan on updating a lot more soon. Expect to hear from me again. See ya!

With many thanks,

Sharif
