Eastwood casts The Ring actress in his Hoover biopic.

Charlize Theron is out and Naomi Watts is in J. Edgar, the biopic of legendary FBI boss J. Edgar Hoover to be directed by Clint Eastwood.
Deadline reports Watts "will play Helen Gandy, J. Edgar Hoover's loyal secretary for 54 years. Hoover (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) called her indispensible and she was the ultimate keeper of his secrets and a behind the scenes influence on the workings of the FBI. After Hoover died, Gandy spent weeks destroying his personal file, which contained the incriminating material that he used to manipulate and control the most powerful figures in D.C."
Watts is also rumored to be up for a role in The Dark Knight Rises (some reports claim she'll play reporter Vicki Vale), but Deadline's report makes no mention of that.
Theron backed out of playing Gandy in order to star in Snow White and the Huntsman and possibly Ridley Scott's sci-fi film Prometheus (which is no longer an Alien prequel, mind you).
