How the Friend List works on PlayStation Vita

Yes, Yes -- Vita uses the same PlayStation Network profile system as the PlayStation 3. This means, your profile can be friends with other PSN users regardless of whether they're on the PS3 or Vita. Hooray! Let's glance over a few of the key features and questions.

What does the Vita Friends List look like?

Well, as you can see below, it's a rather simple setup. Your profile is at the top of the list (GameOverGreggyJP in our visual) and your friends are below. (Hi, GameOverGreggy!)

You can tap your friend's PSN name to see what he or she is playing, how many Trophies he or she has and so on. Let's check in on GameOverGreggy.

Awesome, so Vitas see PS3s and PS3s see Vitas?!

Uh, no. While Vita players looking at the Vita friends list can see what Vita and PS3 friends are playing, PS3 players can't see what friends on the Vita are up to. Maybe this'll be changed down the road via a firmware update or maybe it has to do with our Vita units not communicating correctly with the Japanese servers.
