If you thought there were some highly anticipated comic book movies to look forward to this summer then you probably can't wait for summer 2012. That's when the third and final installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman series, The Dark Knight Rises, and the long-awaited Marvel epic The Avengers hit theaters.
The Dark Knight Rises went for sparsity and nostalgia in its teaser trailer, which directly called back to Batman Begins. It introduced fans to Tom Hardy's Bane but not to Anne Hathaway's Catwoman, and cryptically showed an ailing Commissioner Gordon speaking to a Batman who appears to have withdrawn from the fight:
On the other hand, The Avengers went the more bombastic route, showing off the spectacle and action of its superheroes vs. alien invasion storyline and the chemistry and banter between the team's members (including a build-up to the reveal of the new Hulk). This trailer is heavier on action and far lighter in tone than TDKR's:
Based on the teaser trailers above, which superhero epic are you more excited for: Christopher Nolan's Bat-swan song, or Joss Whedon's mighty Marvel team-up? Vote in the poll below and then tell us why you chose the film you did in the Comments section!
