The Nano seemed to be the primary focus of Apple's 2009 wave. Though retaining the same basic size and shape of the previous version, the 5th Gen Nano was given a longer screen designed, once again, with widescreen video playback in mind. The overall design is similar to the original ipod, only smaller and thiner. Battery life and storage capacity remained largely unchanged. More significant were the addition of an FM radio, pedometer, and video recorder. Hoping to tap into the burgeoning flash video recorder market, Apple included a camera on the rear of the Nano that allowed for simple recording functions.
