The merchandising for upcoming movies, specifically toys, are increasingly becoming a source of spoilers and for confirmation of rumors, with The Amazing Spider-Man their latest victim.

Coming Soon points out these reports at Bleeding Cool and Idle Hands that showcase images of the upcoming Spidey movie toys and merchandise featuring more new looks at the movie's villain, the Lizard.

Beyond that, though, the toys also confirm long-standing rumors about what happens in the upcoming reboot. Be advised that SPOILERS follow!

One toy set from Mega Bloks comes with lizard SWAT figures, which appears to confirm a rumor first reported by Big Fanboy last spring that the Lizard somehow turns members of the NYPD SWAT team into fellow humanoid reptiles that Spidey must defeat.

The toy sets also confirm a spoiler that actor C. Thomas Howell let slip about a climactic battle on the Manhattan Bridge between Spidey and the Lizard.
