Even though The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is still a few days out from a wide release, director David Fincher is already talking about the two sequels in Stieg Larson's Millennium trilogy. And considering the popularity of the books and the likely success of this upcoming film, Fincher is now considering a back-to-back shoot for The Girl who Played with Fire and The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest.

Said Fincher in a recent interview with Collider, "Yes, the second two books are very much one story and it doesn't seem prudent to me to go to Sweden for a year. Come back for a year. Put out the second one. Go to Sweden for a year. Come back for a year. I don't think [star] Rooney [Mara] wants to be doing this four years from now. So I think that would be crazy especially given the sense that it's really one story that's kind of bifurcated in the middle."

Screenwriter Steve Zaillian also confirmed that he's heard rumblings of a back-to-back shoot, and he is confident that he could get both scripts ready in time for production.
