What’s so funny about comedians or non-hip-hop music acts covering rap songs? First of all, when rap singles are performed in a different genre, the structure and musicianship of the song really shine. It becomes more than just a catchy beat to play while dancing or lifting weights. It's almost funny because it's so good. Secondly, it's funny to see white guys trying to be "down." Sorry, we were trying to wax poetic on this subgenre of rap covers, but that's really what it comes down to. But the people doing it have to have rhythm. They have to be impressive musicians. Otherwise, it just sounds like horrible karaoke, and that's not fun for anyone -- except the person with the microphone. Here are five funny rap covers that actually work.
