Cube World Devs Show Off First Quests
Have you guys even heard of Cube World yet? To me it looks like a Minecraft meets 3D Dot Game Heroes meets Terraria game. New footage has been released of some very basic quests which you can check out in the video below. I'm not digging the fact that it's taking the developer something like 15-20 sword hits to kill level 1 creatures, but to be fair this footage is of an extremely early build.

Holiday Deals for January 2, 2012
2012 has started, and it looks like we are in the final hours of the holiday deals. Origin’s deals are already over, but Steam, Gamersgate, Gamestop/Impulse, and Good Old games will continue their deals for at least a few more hours.

Steam's sale ends at 10 Am Pacific Standard time (US)/ 6 PM GMT. During this time you may still accomplish objectives related to their Gift Pile Contest.

We aren't entirely certain when the following deals will come to an end. This article will be updated once that information is available.

Amazon.com is still offering up to 80% savings on 2K games as well as a variety of other deals.

Gamersgate currently has over 500 games on sale. They also have a Buy 4 for 3 deal. If you purchase 4 games in the same order then you'll get the cheapest one for free.

GameStop/Impulse Driven's holiday sale continues through some point today.

Good Old Games's impressive holiday sale will continue until about midnight on the US East coast/ 5 AM GMT on January 3.

Will any of you pick up something at the last minute? I'm tempted to buy Dead Island for some friends.

Happy New Year! Any resolutions? I used to make them but now I just find it a waste of 30 seconds of my life. I can't spare it, can't spare a square. What did you all do on New Year's Eve? I was asleep by 10 PM. Had a great snooze until some douchenburgers started blowing off fireworks across the road at midnight.

I just read that 1 in 25 people are sociopaths. Must have sucked to be the person who had to count them all. I think the numbers are flawed. Like seriously, raise your hand if someone came to your door to ask if you are a sociopath. It's like the newspaper boy that tosses all the papers in the bin and then says they were delivered. I'd like to meet a sociopath counter. Give 'em a piece of my mind I would!

Bastion: Number Of Copies Sold "Sails Past" 500K
- 7 Comments
It's been cheerily reported on the blog of Supergiant Games that Bastion, their world-unfurling & atmospherically-narrated action-RPG, has this week surpassed 500,000 copies sold on PC & Xbox 360.

"We’re happy to have this many people playing and to be in a position to make more games on our own terms. When we set out to make Bastion, a sales number like that seemed astronomical to us, so it feels great to have hit that mark. It goes to show that a lot of folks out there like what we’re doing and want us to keep going, which is great, because we intend to stick together as a team and do just that."

It is most excellent news. I enjoyed Bastion thoroughly and am very much looking forward to whatever their next project may be.

Good Morrow! New Year's Eve & Resolute Unproductivity
- 12 Comments
Hello! I greet you on yet another Eve. This time it is an Eve of the New Year's variety. It's traditional to ask about resolutions amidst New Years-y happenings, so I suppose I should avoid that with all of my might. But watch me fail: what are yours? Do you have any? Do you sneer at the mere prospect?

I waver violently in my opinion on New Years' resolutions each time the numerical year-code ticks over, but I did compile a small collection on the rainy train journey back to London yesterday evening. The most productive piece on the list is the vague and unconvincing request to "quit procrastinating," which is a request that I earnestly recite to myself every other day. Anno 2070 (the playing thereof) is fairly high on the more pleasing (unproductive) side of the list. Once I have dispensed with the responsibilities required of me over the next few days, I intend to get in some guilt-free city-building time before the great miser of University makes me feel bad about every piece of fun I encounter over the next six months.

Check out this dog. I don't care that this video has had three and a half million views in a week. WATCH IT AGAIN.
