While we've known the details on Avengers: X-Sanction for quite some time, only in light of this week's reveal of Avengers vs. X-Men does its place in the Marvel Universe begin to become clear. With Cable's return it looks like his mission is to prevent the "tragedies" that lead to the events of Marvel's new event series.
"On the eve of the biggest Marvel event—maybe ever—Ed McGuinness and I are thrilled to be the lead-in for Avengers VS X-Men," said writer Jeph Loeb. "Hopefully longtime fans and first time Cable, X-Men and Avengers readers will be excited by a story that can be read entirely on its own -- and at the same time has lots of stocking stuffer-esque surprises just in time for the holidays."
Out next week, Avengers: X-Sanction #1 has its crosshairs focused squarely on fanboys everywhere.
