Enhanced Knowledge Sharing for Community Learning
Telecentre.org’s knowledge sharing initiative crosscuts and supports all of our strategic program areas. We help connect members of the telecentre community and facilitate the widespread sharing of ideas, resources, learning and best practices. In this way, we work to build a vibrant and dynamic community based on active knowledge exchange, thus contributing to a more sustainable telecentre ecosystem.
At the core of this initiative is a central repository of telecentre related information that is accessible to all interested parties. This repository is a comprehensive telecentre – knowledge warehouse covering the entire telecentre movement, from local to global initiatives, and allows the engagement of telecentres around the world.
The following online information, tools and services will be made available to members to encourage information and knowledge exchange.
Community sites in multiple languages – English, Spanish, French, Arabic, Russian, Portuguese, Chinese and Hindi. Our sites provide information through interaction — by blogs, forums, discussion groups, online events, photos and videos and more. Already, we are home to the world’s largest collection of videos and photos related to telecentres.
Online multi-media library-on telecentre related knowledge assets – best practice material, books, journals, reports and research outputs. Available in English, French and Spanish, these electronic resources are available for quick and easy reference – with new materials added regularly.
Online map of telecentres world-wide– offering information on each and every telecentre in operation. With up-to-date information about where telecentres are located and what they specialize in (e.g. governance, health, education, agriculture, etc.), this comprehensive world map will be a powerful reference tool that would help communication and collaboration between telecentres — wherever they are — much easier.
