The other day, I put out the call for IGN readers to tweet me with the comic book characters that they're most thankful for. 'Tis the season, after all. It had to be one tweet -- 140 characters or less -- and could be funny, clever, sincere, personal, or goofy. What started as a pretty simple contest to win a signed copy of The Flash #1 turned into something pretty inspiring.

The winners of the contest will be notified via DM over the coming weekend, but I wanted to collect some of my favorite tweets in one piece for all to see. There were so, so many great ones and I wish I could put them all in this article. If you didn't take part, feel free to sound off in the comments below.

Thanks to everyone that shared their thoughts with me, and Happy Thanksgiving!
