Real men Kevin, real men.November 11, 2011 by

The other day, the day the MGS Collection was released actually, this happened:

Note: I'm not hating on Call of Duty, I actually like those games, but I found this to be quite funny.

I'm Bryan, by the way, not Dale. =D

Shakespeare's Sonnets: 9, 10, 11, & 12.November 9, 2011 by

William Shakespeare's sonnets 9 through to 12. These are very late. I'm sorry. I truly am. As per usual, interpret and stuff, if you can. Enjoy!

9

Is it for fear to wet a widow's eye

That thou consum'st thyself in single life?

Ah, if thou issueless shalt hap to die,

The world will wail thee like a makeless wife;

The world will be thy widow and still weep,

That thou no form of thee hast left behind,

When every private widow well may keep,

By children's eyes, her husband's shape in mind.

Look what an unthrift in the world doth spend,

Shifts but his place, for still the world enjoys it;

But beauty's waste hath in the world an end,

And kept unused, the user so destroys it:

No love toward others in that bosom sits

That on himself such murd'rous shame commits.

10

For shame, deny that thou bear'st love to any

Who for thyself art so unprovident.

Grant if thou wilt, thou art beloved of many,

But that thou none lov'st is most evident;

For thou art so possessed with murd'rous hate,

That 'gainst thyself thou stick'st not to conspire,

Seeking that beauteous roof to ruinate,

Which to repair should be thy chief desire.

O, change thy thought, that I may change my mind.

Shall hate be fairer lodged than gentle love?

Be as thy presence is, gracious and kind,

Or to thyself at least kind-hearted prove.

Make thee another self for love of me,

That beauty still may live in thine or thee.

11

As fast as thou shalt wane, so fast thou grow'st

In one of thine, from that which thou departest;

And that fresh blood which youngly thou bestow'st

Thou mayst call thine, when thou from youth convertest.

Herein lives wisdom, beauty, and increase;

Without this, folly, age, and cold decay.

If all were minded so, the times should cease,

And threescore year would make the world away.

Let those whom Nature hath not made for store,

Harsh, featureless, and rude barrenly perish.

Look whom she best endowed, she gave the more;

Which bounteous gift thou shouldst in bounty cherish.

She carved thee for her seal, and meant thereby

Thou shouldst print more, not let that copy die.

12

When I do count the clock that tells the time,

And see the brave day sunk in hideous night;

When I behold the violet past prime,

And sable curls are silvered o'er with white;

When lofty trees I see barren of leaves,

Which erst from heat did canopy the herd,

And summer's green, all girded up in sheaves,

Borne on the bier with white and bristly beard;

Then of thy beauty do I question make,

That thou among the wastes of time must go,

Since sweets and beauties do themselves forsake,

And die as fast as they see others grow,

And nothing 'gainst Time's scythe can make defense,

Save breed, to brave him when he takes thee hence.

I'm actually going to talk about 12 shortly, since it's one of his more famous sonnets, and it's quite easy to interpret. Obviously, the theme of time is relevant, but it's more so about aging. The imagery of white offers descriptions of his hair turning white/grey, while his "lover" remains young. It's also about facing death and making sure you have children, or something along those lines. There's probably more to it, but that's all I have for now.

Not now chief, I'm in the f@#&ing zone!November 9, 2011 by

My New Haircut.

Oh, what it means to be a total douchebag/asshole! I know this video is old...very old. But I watched it again for the first time in years, and I still find it funny. Why? I have no idea. Probably because it's totally ridiculous. If I wanted to get very serious, I would go as far as to say I find it funny that it's a parody of a very true stereotype, a satire of sorts of the.....the asshole! I have no other words for this thing... it's pre Jersey Shore, to be precise. I wouldn't be surprised if the people behind that shit watched this video and thought, "this is fucking brilliant! Let's replicate this shit!"

What brings people to that level of ridiculousness!?

Today! You should vote for The Beach Boys (Support Blog)November 9, 2011 by

I'm gonna make this quick and concise. Today! was the album that The Beach Boys released before Pet Sounds, and sort of helped establish their future sound. It's a great album. The songs are still classic Beach Boys, boy bandish, alongside with some experimental work, and it works really, really well. If you want to listen to some of their other songs, than I direct you here, and here. Onwards to the album!

1. Do You Wanna Dance?

2. Good to My Baby

3. Don't Hurt My Little Sister

4. When I Grow Up (To Be a Man)

Here's a nice live version of the same song, my favorite on the album:

5. Help Me, Rhonda

6. Dance, Dance, Dance

7. Please Let Me Wonder

8. I'm So Young

9. Kiss Me, Baby

10. She Knows Me Too Well

11. In The Back Of My Mind

12. Bull Session with the "Big Daddy"

13. The Girl From New York City (This is the only version I could find on YouTube. If you want to hear the version from Today! than I suggest legitimately looking for it. This version's still pretty good though!)

Remember, vote for The Beach Boys at: http://www.ign.com/blogs/imcrusty/2011/11/08/the-myign-artist-tournament-with-15-the-beach-boys-3-the-rolling-stones/
