"About Grunts: The Unggoy - or Grunts - are the Covenant's comic relief: low in rank, poor on the battlefield, and quick with the quips, they've been a constant source of mirth throughout the series. 'The Grunts-well, they were fodders," admits Shi Kai Wang, 'But I wanted to make them fodders that looked iconic, which is where the backpack came in. Later we used those backpacks as ways to differentiate between variants, and ultimately a fun way to blow them apart.' Grunts move in packs, and are often accompanied by a commanding Elite. They may be weak in battle, but in numbers they've been the undoing of many a Halo player."

Oh, Cortana.

So we beat on, flags against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.

"About The Pillar of Autumn: It's the ship with the honor of transporting humans to their very first contact with Halo, and it's arguably one of the most significant members of the UNSC's fleet. The Pillar of Autumn, helmed by Captain Keyes, has played an instrumental part in the Halo series, from hosting those very first moments of Halo: Combat Evolved to making a weighty cameo at Halo: Reach's climax. 'At the time I drew the sketches for the Pillar of Autumn, I followed design cues from the Chief's Assault Rifle and looked to inspirational images from an animated film called Mobile Suit Gundam,' explains Lorraine McLees, 'The Autumn was essentially a big gun with engines that will carry the crew to Halo, complete with centrifuge for the crew quarters housed beneath angled ablative armor.' Over the years, the Pillar of Autumn has become an icon in itself. Indeed, it's a fascinating study of how the design of Halo has evolved, having bookmarked Bungie's tenure on the series and kick-starting the more recent remake."

Teamwork.

The battles will always be epic.

Master Chief in all his glory.
