Epic Mickey Review

By Torrey Holbrook Walker | Wii Reviews | Dec 3, 2010 3:30 PM | Comment

Disney's beloved and timeless mascot hasn't had his own solo game outing in half a decade, so when I learned that Deus Ex designer Warren Spector was at the helm for Epic Mickey, I nearly soiled my britches. Several standout games from my adolescence, like Mickey Mousecapades and Castle of Illusion, starred the mouse with the most -- and even though I haven't played a Mickey Mouse game in over a decade, I still associate the name with quality action gaming. So, what could go wrong under the creative vision of such a storied game designer and true Disney fan like Warren Spector on task? Surprisingly, the answer is: a lot. Read More »

Pac-Man Championship Edition DX Review

By Ryan Scott | Xbox 360 Reviews | Dec 2, 2010 5:30 PM | Comment

Took that turn a half-second too late. Retry.

Damn, the ghost train took a slightly roundabout route when I hit the first power pill, and it's probably going to cost me two seconds. Retry.

Not close enough to 1,000,000 points by the two-minute mark. Retry.

This is what my life has become: dots, dots, and more dots. It turns out that I'm some sort of Pac-Rain-Man, and I've spent what probably amounts to 30 hours (thus far) gunning for nothing shy of perfection. My six-hour-a-day play sessions have paid off so far; I'm currently #91 on the Xbox Live leaderboards, with a whopping 1,947,500 points -- almost within reach of the 2,141,300 top score.
