Elemental's revenue was anticipated to provide the revenue both for our main games team's next project as well as a second team. Unfortunately, that is unlikely to happen so we've had to start laying people off.He also shares some information on why he thought Elemental had more of a rocky launch than normal, and also insists that the layoffs will not affect post launch support at all. The cuts seem to have only affected the company's intent to fund a second game development team.No one is being fired. None of these people did anything wrong. Stardock is a small company and each person here is truly amongst the best and brightest. So you can imagine how much it sucks for all of us to lay off anyone. We haven't had to lay anyone off since our migration from the OS/2 market in 1998. It would be great if we can bring as many of these people back over time if the studio can afford it.
As always, best of luck to those that were let go.
During races, players will be constantly exhorted to go faster by a bevy of Cargasm Girls. If they are fast enough, players can collect these ravishing maidens for their own personal Cargasm Harem. As the players win races, new cars, Ecstasy points and trophies can also be unlocked and uploaded to an online global leaderboard. The trophies that can be won include Cargasm Rave, Thrust, Lesbos, Orgy, Gigolo, Lothario, Playboy and the most coveted of all, Cargasm Sultan.
“When I founded Red 5, I knew I wanted to do something different than anything I’d done before.” says CEO and Chief Creative Officer Mark Kern, who led the development for World of Warcraft. “I wanted to take the best of what I learned making online games and bring that to skill-based shooters.” Scott Youngblood, former lead designer behind groundbreaking multiplayer shooter Tribes, couldn’t agree more. “When Mark brought me on to help design Firefall, it was obvious to me that he was dedicated to building something different. With Firefall, I’m finally able to make the game of my dreams.”Firefall paints a beautifully devastating vision of Earth, 200 years in the future. The promise of a new clean energy source, Crystite, leads to the disastrous arrival of the Melding, a hostile energy storm that engulfs most of our home planet. Earth’s surviving humans must band together in the eye of the Melding storm to save our species. Unfortunately, a new danger emerges as a bloodthirsty race known as The Chosen threatens humanity’s survival.
Players will protect the Earth through the use of high-tech battleframes, which can be customized extensively to unlock the power of Firefall’s class-based combat. Battleframes allow players to specialize in their favorite style of play, while giving them the flexibility to swap and trade their way to new configurations on-the-fly. Whether you enjoy supporting your team, aggressively assaulting an enemy position, or sneaking behind enemy lines, there is a battleframe for you.
Firefall will feature a free-to-play model that allows players to experience every detail of the vibrant world without having to pay a penny. Updates to the game, dynamic world events, and other content will also be offered without a price tag, while a marketplace will allow fans to purchase optional enhancements.

Hey look, I found a video of neverko!
After seeing the trailer I do have to wonder though that if both Tripwire and Treyarch have brought a little bit of gore back to PC FPS in recent years then what's stopping Raven Software from doing a proper Soldier of Fortune sequel?
Before getting hands-on time with Duke Nukem Forever, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford talked to us about how Gearbox became a part of the Duke saga. After some persuasion, Gearbox was offered the keys to the beleaguered game (it has existed in the ether in one form or another for over a decade) and Pitchford jumped at the chance. "To us, it felt like Duke can't die," said Pitchford. The Gearbox boss also related his wife's insistence that he take up Duke's cause and that if he succeeded in making it happen, she'd give him – and this a direct quote – a "Chilean Miner." She would "go down the shaft and stay 'til Christmas."
BTW, Duke was running on PCs at the hands-on kiosks. Woot, go PC! Not only is Duke apparently very bloody, but now that he's out of retirement he's got a lot to say in the classic humour department.
There's also this two part UStream from 2K Games. Check out the queue, then head on inside for a presentation, some developer Q&A;, and play time.
The video will demonstrate some of the new graphics technology integrated into Shogun 2: Total War, including new deferred lighting, accurate fire and building damage simulation and rainfall effects. The background also hints at the sheer scale of the castles that players will later encounter in siege battles. With fire archers raining down arrows on the katana cavalry and an epic hand-to-hand engagement on the battlefield showing off some of the new motion-captured combat, who will prosper in this winner-takes-all battle?
Update: A live stream is up right now showing off DNF gameplay. Thanks to RaumTheOld for the tip.
Update #2: Stream offline, but we've found out that the official launch date on all platforms is 4/11/2011. Better get ready to kick ass and chew bubble gum next Spring!
Update #3 If you want to check out some gameplay impressions Stephen Totilo has already posted his up at Kotaku.

Ok so, stupid question time. Who here likes food? I've really been itching to go to a Mongolian bbq grill style place lately. If you haven't been to one before it's pretty much a restaurant where you make your own bowl of meats, veggies, and noodles or rice, then pick out your own spices, sauces, etc., Once you're good to go you bring your bowl up to a group of grillmasters cooking over a big open flattop grill, and then they cook everything up at blazing hot temps for a few minutes. Assuming that you know how to put together good flavor combos it's not that hard to create extremely wicked dishes. The price is pretty reasonable too.
So what's your favorite type of restaurant / food joint?
