Lufia was a popular RPG franchise that first appeared on the Super Nintendo in 1994. Now Natsume is bringing the game to the DS with a few a few changes. Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals is actually a remake of Lufia II, featuring the same story and characters.
The Sinistrals are four evil beings who want to take over the world. Having been previously defeated by the "Legendary Heroes," the Sinistrals are back, forcing the heroes to face them once again.
The biggest difference between Curse of the Sinistrals and Lufia II is that the new game is an action, rather than a turn-based RPG. Each character has different weapons and magic attacks, and players can switch between characters at any time.
I got to see an early boss battle that spanned both screens of the DS and towered over the character. The gameplay felt smooth and intuitive, with attacking and cycling through the characters a cinch.
