When you do this, the folder redirection process for that user fails on a computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows XP. However, the folder redirection process still works on any computers on which the user did not log on before the name change. Note Folder redirection is implemented when a user logs on to the computer for the first time. This issue occurs when the following conditions are true:
Event ID: 107 CAUSEThis issue occurs because a new folder is created when the user logs on for the first time by using the new user name on any computer on which the user has not logged on before. Therefore, when the user logs on to a computer on which he or she previously logged on before the name change, the existing folder for the user profile cannot be renamed to the new user name. This condition causes the folder redirection process to fail. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, you must delete the affected user's profile on the computers on which the user logged on before the name change. To do this, use one of the following methods. Important The user profile contains user-specific settings, data, and digital certificates. We recommend that you make a backup copy of the user profile before you delete it.
