Adobe provides a number of Software Development Kits (SDKs) for integrating Flash Player technology into third-party software products and systems. These SDKs are freely available via our licensing program.
SWF and FLV File Format Specification
This SDK helps ISVs create software products that output to the SWF file format. The SWF file format is immediately viewable by hundreds of millions of end-users across the internet because of the ubiquity of Adobe Flash Player.
Here is a brief summary of the rights granted by this license:
- This license grants the Licensee access to the SWF file format specification to aid in the creation of software which creates SWF files.
- This license does not permit the usage of the specification to create software which supports SWF file playback.
- The SWF output from the Licensee software must create content which renders error free in the latest publicly available version of Adobe Flash Player.

Search Engine SDK
This license grants the access to the Flash Search Engine SDK for incorporating into software applications functionality to index and process SWF files.
