Banner Ad Specs

We support many different banner ad sizes, including all the current popular standards (sizes listed in pixels wide by pixels tall):
1. Standard banners: 468x60
2. Big banners: 728x105 (and variations)
3. Tower / skyscraper ads: 120x600 (and wider towers such as 125x600 or 160x600)
4. Site Sponsorship: 125x125
5. Section specific buttons / sponsorships (120x60 or other sizes as requested)

For an example of the different ads sizes click here

We recommend big banners and tower ad sizes to get your message across. Back when the Web was young and most people had 640x480 or 800x600 displays, the 468x60 banner seemed quite large onscreen, but still reasonable. Nowadays, most people have 1024x768 or better for their screen resolution, and you need to use a bigger ad size to achieve the same screen real estate that the 468x60 banner once promised.

We are able to display ads of almost any size. Tell us what you need. We can fit it in. You can purchase ads by section, choose to sponsor an entire section for a monthly period, or the entire site. We also have a prominent 125x125 site sponsorship area that will guarantee that all users of any Geek.com page view your message.

We can display most Rich Media ads with no trouble. We will test any Rich Media ad with our ad system and verify that it works properly before a campaign starts. We can do redirects to your favorite ad provider, or host the ad here at Geek.com. The choice is yours.

Newsletter Sponsorships
Geek.com currently publishes three e-mail newsletters:

  1. The main Geek.com Newsletter has over 30,000 subscribers and is sent at the beginning and middle of every month on Wednesdays, to maximize response.
  2. The Geek.com PDAGeek Newsletter (PDA = Personal Digital Assistant) has over 16,300 subscribers and is sent at least twice a month. Our PDA/Mobile Devices Section generates a lot of traffic on the site due to the rising popularity of Palm OS-based handheld devices, the burgeoning Windows CE/Pocket PC market, and wireless connectivity.
  3. The Geek.com ChipGeek Newsletter has over 10,000 subscribers and is sent every two weeks. Our ChipGeek section is very popular with hard-core techies interested in processors, chipsets, motherboards, overclocking, and memory chips.
