Vonage VoIP
Review
There's a lot of very cool technology out there for us geeks nowadays, but a lot of it is expensive and fills only a niche function. While phone service comes in many varieties, the vast majority of folks who have a cellphone or smartphone also have an expensive landline at home, etc., along with a broadband connection. But why pay the phone company its fees when you've got a VoIP alternative that combines high-tech with everyday use? We've got a review of the Vonage VoIP Solution for you that you must read if you're interested in saving money. Vonage works great, is extremely affordable, and offers a huge variety of features. A definite Geek.com Pick.

Check out The eBookGeek Experience and shop away! :)

PDAGeek Newsletter
It's been a while, but we've got another PDAGeek Newsletter for your perusing pleasure. We at Geek.com know a lot of PDAGeeks, but the most prolific possessor of PDAs is our very own palmsolo, and we've got a look at what he's using nowadays in What's new in palmsolo's wide world of handhelds. Palms, PPCs, Phone Editions, and even a couple of HPCs, along with the usual site round-up and recommendations. Check out today's issue, and sign up for future issues.

Corsoft Plug2Net
Mini-Review
Internet connectivity is a must-have nowadays, so what should you do if you're carrying a PDA that doesn't have built-in wireless or isn't a smartphone? Check out our mini-review of Corsoft's Plug2Net, a simple software and IR interface solution to get your PDA on the 'Net. The software comes with some great customization options and a bunch of built-in dial-up numbers to common U.S. wireless carriers, so this can even be helpful if you take your connected PDA and cellphone out of your carrier's coverage area.

Sony CLIÉ PEG-TJ37
Review
How in the world can anyone make a decision on what PDA to get nowadays? There are so many options in each of the many makes running each of many operating systems. The answer: lots of research, figuring out what feature(s) mean the most to you, and then gauging the cost. One great candidate for those looking for a built-in camera, expansion capabilities, and Wi-Fi connectivity is Sony's CLIÉ PEG-TJ37, an affordable handheld with great software, a decent camera, a nice screen, and excellent design. Check out our review.

Rants & Raves
Spam. Ah, spam. What was once known as a questionable lunch meat and a fantastic Monty Python skit has taken on a terrible, evil, mind-agonizing connotation in the last few years, as unsolicited e-mails have clogged e-mailboxes and servers and brains ... Laws are being passed, but are they any good? Check out our newest rant, Sexually explicit spam law in effect for a topical look (and some topical doubt!) at the latest attempt to clean up our e-mail. Got something on your mind? Let us know!

Express WebPictures
Review
Saving pictures from your Web surfing travels is easy when there are only a few you want; but what if you need a lot, or if you don't have the time to search through all of a site's pages to see which pics are worth the right-click > Save as? For busy Webfolk, ExpressSoft has your graphics grabbing solution: Express WebPictures. All you do is point this program at the URL you're interested in and watch it download. You've got some customization options and a nice feature set as well. Check out our mini-review of Express WebPictures for more info.

pdfFactory and pdfFactory Pro
Mini-Review
If you do any sort of document production or even if you just surf the Web, you know how useful Adobe's PDF format is. Unfortunately, while Acrobat Reader is free, it's expensive to buy Adobe's PDF creation software, like Adobe Acrobat. FinePrint Software has the solution for you with its cheaper pdfFactory and pdfFactory Pro software. With one of these great programs in place you'll be creating PDFs in no time, and the Pro version gives you all the advanced capabilities you need. Check out our mini-review of both programs.
