- Android devices with Marshmallow 6.0 and up can download the app, but Nougat 7.0 is required to add or find cards and passes or to make contactless payments. Learn how to update your Android version.
- Google Play Services and Google Wallet app.
To get started, download and set up the Google Pay app.
What you need
- To use the app, you must be at least 18 years old.
- You need to have a valid Singaporean (+65) phone number.
- An Android device with Marshmallow 6.0 and up. Learn how to update your Android version.
- If you're unable to download or update your Google Pay app, it may be because your device's Android version is no longer supported.
Tip: The Google Pay app wonât work on a rooted device.
Get the Google Pay app
From the Play Store, download the Google Pay app .
Set up the Google Pay app
Important: To use the Google Pay app, you must have a Google Account. If you have more than one Google Account, choose one to use. You can change the Google Account linked to the Google Pay app at any time.
Currently, the Google Pay app doesn't support Google Enterprise accounts, Google Workspace (previously G suite) accounts, or Android work profiles.
- Open the Google Pay app

- Enter your phone number.
- Connect your Google Account. If you have a PayNow account associated with your phone number, it automatically links to your Google Account.
Tip: You can change these preferences later in your Settings.
Add a screen lock
For your security on the Google Pay app, you must set up a screen lock on your device.
