Academic Psychiatry will publish Volume 50 in 2026. We welcome your reports and perspective pieces on how the journal has shaped your professional and career development and influenced your education in psychiatry, whether as a teacher or learner—or both—and how the journal can best serve its contributors and field in the future.
Submission Deadline: September 1, 2025
Transitions are an inevitable and impactful part of professional and personal life, shaping the experiences of medical students, residents, fellows, and practicing psychiatrists. These periods of change influence identity formation, career decision making, scholarship, and the ability to integrate work and personal responsibilities. We invite both learners in psychiatry and practicing/academic psychiatrists to submit short manuscripts (no more than 1,000 words), sharing their experiences and reflections around these and other transitions.

The Academic Psychiatry Trainee Editorial Fellowship is an opportunity for psychiatry residents and fellows with demonstrated interest in education, scholarship, and leadership to expand their skills in scholarly publication.
