If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
- Please make sure you really need technical assistance before making a request here. In particular, if the target page is a redirect back to the source page that has only one revision, you can usually move the page normally.
- To list a technical request: Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:
This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests
[edit]Uncontroversial technical requests
[edit]- Whaling in the Soviet Union and Russia → Whaling in Russia (currently a redirect back to Whaling in the Soviet Union and Russia) (move · discuss) – More concise, page should mention Russian Empire Easternsahara (talk) 15:23, 9 June 2025 (UTC) Easternsahara (talk) 15:23, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
- Salbiah binti Sulaiman → Salbiah Sulaiman (currently a redirect back to Salbiah binti Sulaiman) (move · discuss) – per MOSMALAYS, without bin/binti as per every Malays name similar like Singapore's Halimah Yacob, Malaysia's Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali articles as well as Brunei's Princess Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah and Fadzilah Lubabul Bolkiah articles etc. Ṉight Ḻantern 🏮 23:38, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
- User:Destinyokhiria/Sandbox8 → Dopamine (Lil Tecca album) (currently a redirect instead to Dark Thoughts) (move · discuss) – Move to Mainspace Destinyokhiria (talk) 06:54, 10 June 2025 (UTC) Destinyokhiria (talk) 06:54, 10 June 2025 (UTC)
Requests to revert undiscussed moves
[edit]- Crimean blockade (1655) (currently a redirect to Blockade of the Kerch strait) → Crimean Blockade (1655) (currently a redirect back to Crimean blockade (1655)) (move · discuss) – Undiscussed move. The title is a proper name, I think it should be capitalised. We need to discuss the move first, at least. TurboSuperA+(connect) 10:59, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
- Meanwhile the current title does not comply with WP:MISPLACED as both Crimean Blockade and Crimean blockade are red. A better title would be "1655 Crimean <b/B>locakde" as the year is part of the title not a disambiguator. * Pppery * it has begun... 19:07, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
- I agree, natural disambiguation. As for the disambiguation itself, modern blockades have existed, and we have coverage on them, but not an actual article by name (found some discussion at Russian occupation of Crimea and Annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation, and especially Capture of Southern Naval Base, which itself is fairly in-depth on the topic) - on that one of the redlinks could potentially be a dab, or hatnotes and redirects, though I'm not certain which. The 1655 blockade has virtually no pageviews but is recently published. ASUKITE 20:22, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
- FYI, it has now been moved to Blockade of the Kerch strait. @TurboSuperA+: please say if you still want to move it back to Crimean Blockade (1655) and have an RM discussion, or if this is OK for now. Its creator, by the way, was fine with the downcasing. Dicklyon (talk) 03:10, 10 June 2025 (UTC)

Contested technical requests
[edit]- Dubrava Prison bombings and executions → Dubrava Prison massacre (currently a redirect back to Dubrava Prison bombings and executions) (move · discuss) – It has been moved without discussion [1]. In the article intro the title is Dubrava Prison massacre. --Mladifilozof (talk) 08:29, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
- @Mladifilozof: please click the "discuss" link above if you would like to proceed with this request. The article gained its current title almost ten years ago, so moving it to its old title requires discussion; see also WP:PCM. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 08:52, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
- French Cathedral, Berlin → French Cathedral (currently a redirect back to French Cathedral, Berlin) (move · discuss) – Shorter name available, disambiguation hatnote placed –Tobias (talk) 14:17, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
- Contesting this and the one below - French Cathedral and German Cathedral are not WP:RECOGNIZEable as the names of individual churches, those names should be redirects to List of cathedrals in France and List of cathedrals in Germany. — Amakuru (talk) 17:01, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
- Neue Kirche, Berlin → German Cathedral (currently a redirect back to Neue Kirche, Berlin) (move · discuss) – Official name, shorter name available, in line with French Cathedral –Tobias (talk) 14:21, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
